Centex Neighborhoods near Fort Hood, TX
Skipcha Mountain Estates is a popular and huge subdivision on the west side of Harker Heights bordering Killeen. It is close to Highway 190, Harker Heights shopping, and Harker Heights High School. It is the largest subdivision in the Fort Hood area, built over a 20 year span from the early 90s to late 2000s, and consequently has a wide variety of homes and features. The neighborhood surrounds two Elementaries and a middle school. Many of the homes were built by Centex and feature larger floor plans between 1400 to over 4000 sq. ft. It is a great neighborhood with lots of options, ideal for anyone looking for affordable space in Harker Heights.
The Ridge is a mid-size luxury neighborhood on the south side of Harker Heights, overlooking Stillhouse Hollow Lake. The community is across the road from Dana Peak Park, which includes everything you need for Lakeside recreation. The homes are built by Fort Hood’s elite custom home builders like Vale Irvin and Cameo Homes, and are large homes starting at 2000 square feet and over. Homes in the neighborhood are at different elevations, with those on top of the ridge itself fetching some of the top price points in the entire Fort Hood area and including breathtaking views of the lake on either side of the Ridge. The Ridge is a great option for those looking for an elite home, true contemporary style architecture, and the best views in the Fort Hood area.
Trimmier Estates is large new neighborhood on the South side of Killeen, between Trimmier Road and Hwy 195. It features builders like Centex and Saratoga, and has a mix of one and two story options. It is one of the most affordable neighborhoods to work with either of these builders, and can provide similar size homes as those in White Rock Estates and even Yowell Ranch but at lower prices. The neighborhood is a great location, right on Fort Hood street to go north to the Fort Hood East Gate, or south to Georgetown and Austin beyond.
White Rock Estates is a large neighborhood on the South-East side of Killeen and adjacent to Harker Heights. It is located just off of Rosewood, and Stagecoach Roads. The neighborhood began in 2004 and is still very active with builders like Centex, D R Horton, Saratoga, Jubilee and Lennar. The neighborhood has a diverse selection of housing, with the part of the neighborhood north of Sulfur Spring featuring mostly homes at affordable prices, while the newer construction features move-up buyer upgrades and even some lots with gorgeous custom homes. Square feet can be yours, with homes predominantly between 1500 and 3600 square feet. Phase Six is located across the city easement from the rest of White Rock and boasts some amazing upgraded homes as well. White Rock Estates is a great option for home owners looking for newer homes, often with larger floor plans and upgrades, on Killeen’s south-east side.
Tuscany Meadows is a new mid-size neighborhood in Harker Heights featuring builders like Centex, D R Horton, and previously Ashton Woods. It is located on the south side of Harker Heights, on the corner of Chapparal Rd. and Stillhouse Lake Rd. (not far from the lake beyond). Most of the neighborhood are larger single story and two story homes, and is a great option for anyone looking for new homes, extra square footage and Harker Heights.
Yowell Ranch is a brand new neighborhood on the edge of Killeen’s South-East side. The neighborhood features new home builders like D R Horton, Centex and Stylecraft. It is one of the Fort Hood area’s few HOA communities, and one where you get the most for your money as it includes a large park with jogging trail, community pool, playground, and more on the way. It is a great option for newer homes in a great neighborhood, but without the higher prices of some of these exact same floorplans in Harker Heights. It is also located in the path of development, next door to the new Killeen Police HQ and KISD has planned for a 5th high school to be built nearby.
