The best place to look for ranches, acreage, pasture and stables are in the areas west (and north) of Fort Hood, including Briggs, Kempner, Lampasas, and Gatesville. These areas are furthest from the development springing up along Interstate 35 and the Killeen area subdivisions.

Of those 8 ranch properties with stables on the market now, the more affordable clocks in at $205,000 and a respectable 28 acres.

The priciest (and largest at 368 acres) is asking $1.65M. In fact, four of the eight on the market are asking north of a million and offering over 100 acres.
