Recommended Lenders – Fort Hood, TX

The second step in the home buying process (after locking down a Realtor) is to find your lender. These lenders are local to Central Texas, which is an asset compared to some of the out-of-state options. I’ve worked with each personally (including on my own homes!) and encourage you to reach out to one or all three!

A fellow West Point alum, Brian and I both left the Army for real estate (albeit a few years apart), except instead of as an agent, Brian became a lender. Brian was an Infantry officer for seven years, including two deployments to Iraq in 2011 and another to Afghanistan in 2015. His duty stations included Fort Campbell and, of course, Fort Hood, TX. For Texas Veterans

Be sure to ask any lender about the “Tex Vet” Program.  Used in conjunction with the VA Loan, it offers it’s own, competitive rates, and a 0.5% rate drop for veterans with at least 30% VA disability, meaning a tremendous discount to your rate, saving you potentially $10s or $100s a month on your mortgage.
