Killeen barely has a true luxury market, especially if one defines luxury as homes requiring Jumbo Loans. It isn’t so much that great homes don’t exist, but that they are extremely affordable in comparison to homes even just a couple cities away (*cough* Austin *cough*). Killeen has a great cost of living where you can stretch a buck and get more for your money, and that is a great thing for home buyers.
In 2017, the most expensive home to sell in Killeen was a 60 acre ranch with 3000 square foot home on the South side of Killeen for $825,000. Only six homes sold for more than $500,000.
Lampasas River Neighborhoods
Of the 10 most expensive MLS sales in Killeen, 4 were in Walnut Creek on the south side along Hwy 195. That is close to River Ridge Ranch, another very pricey gated HOA community with as big as 10 acres lots on the Lampasas River.
Other Neighborhoods
One of the top ten sold in 2017 was in the back corner of the massive White Rock Estates community. Other neighborhoods that often make the list include Deerwood Estates and Stillforest.
